If there were one habit you could practice consistently that would positively affect your mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, and social health, would it be worth your focus?
At first glance, that may sound impossible. Most habits improve one area of life while leaving the others untouched. But what if there is a single practice broad enough—and simple enough—to influence them all?
To find it, we use the Four Disciplines of Execution as our framework:
focus on the wildly important, act on the lead measures, keep a visible scoreboard, and establish a steady cadence of accountability.
When those four disciplines are applied to personal growth, a clear pattern emerges. The most powerful habit isn’t complicated. It’s a repeatable, daily practice that keeps your attention on what matters most, measures what you can actually control, tracks progress in real time, and creates built-in accountability.
This page introduces that habit—and shows how turning it into a simple, lived routine can quietly reshape every major area of your life.
God’s Golden Grace Game
score by focusing your attention on treasure in heaven
“Aim at Heaven, and you will get Earth ‘thrown in’: aim at Earth and you will get neither.” — C.S. Lewis
Stephen Covey stated the principle repeatedly in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

God’s Golden Grace Game Details:
God’s Golden Grace Game is a breathing-centered, Scripture-aligned daily practice that trains the body, focuses the mind, reshapes thought, establishes identity in Christ, and aligns life with God’s unchanging laws of giving and receiving. It begins by calming the nervous system through intentional breathing and fasting from distraction, reclaiming attention for God. That attention is then directed toward the wildly important: a living highlight reel of actions rooted in forgiveness, mercy, service, obedience, and love—each one opening a pathway for greater grace. Those highlights may include time spent praying for others, choosing forgiveness in private, or extending quiet acts of kindness and grace in daily life. The focus is not on recognition, but on intentional obedience—directing attention toward the actions that matter most to God and store up treasure in heaven.
Through blocks of intentional breathing, you inhale God’s mercy, kindness, and love, and exhale reflection on how those same qualities have been expressed outward. Giving and receiving become one movement, differing only in degree—God’s measure without limit. As the highlight reel is revisited through imagination and Scripture, identity is strengthened. You are no longer striving to become someone new; you are reinforcing who you already are in Christ—more than a conqueror. Literally see your body remodel. Practiced consistently and shared in community, God’s Golden Grace Game becomes more than a personal discipline. It becomes a rhythm of accountability, alignment, and grace that compounds across every area of life.
Overtime
Overtime is where the game moves beyond daily obedience into creative stewardship. Having built a foundation by storing up treasure in heaven, you begin to look forward—intentionally using your gifts, imagination, and energy to serve others and manifest God’s glory through your life.
This is not driven by fear or self-promotion, but by the courage to fully express what God has placed within you. As Scripture and experience reveal, our greatest struggle is not inadequacy, but stepping into the responsibility of our God-given strength. In overtime, that strength is directed outward—toward service, contribution, and the creative shaping of a future that reflects Him.
